Before The Sky Turns Gold

“Before the Sky Turns Gold” is my first jazz album, and it was recorded live in the studio with musicians who have become close friends and collaborators. These songs are ones I have been carrying with me over the past few years of singing around Portland, gathering favorites from the Great American Songbook and beyond. We wanted the music to feel natural and conversational, the way it does on a good night in a small room. The title comes from that brief moment before sunset when the world feels calm and open. That mood guided the whole project. If you find some of that feeling here, I am grateful.
